ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Wednesday condemned Monday鈥檚 ballistic missile attack by Houthi rebels in Yemen on the Saudi city of Khamis Mushait.
鈥淭he timely interception by Saudi Air Defense saved the civilian populated city from grave consequences,鈥� Pakistan鈥檚 Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
鈥淪uch attacks targeting the unarmed civilian population are a violation of international law and condemnable,鈥� the ministry added, denouncing 鈥渞epeated鈥� Houthi missile attacks on Saudi territory. 鈥淭hese attacks pose a threat to the security of the Kingdom and the Holy Places.鈥�
Pakistan reiterated its solidarity with the Saudi government and people, and renewed its commitment to support the Kingdom鈥檚 sovereignty and territorial integrity, and to protect its holy sites.
